Let’s start with Ultra Rosá, the more mysterious of the two. The color reminds me of cotton candy, and the scent is best described as “fruity” (although that’s not very helpful). Even the can itself states, “Ultra Rosá is not what you think. Forget about pink lemonade, blush wine, guavas and strawberries.” So what does it taste like? In all honesty, I have no clue. However, if pressed to choose, I’d say it’s reminiscent of pink lemonade. Despite the confusion, the flavor is excellent—not overpowering, not overly sweet, and not overly fruity. It’s like a taste of summer, which is always pleasant.

While the Ultra Rosá flavor may be a mystery, Ultra Fiesta is straightforward. The can openly declares it as mango, and the aroma confirms it. However, the actual flavor is subtler. Yes, there is a hint of mango, but it’s more of a general citrus taste, possibly with notes of pineapple and orange. It almost reminds me of Mountain Dew with a stronger citrus punch. Like Ultra Rosá, this flavor gets a thumbs up from me.

Remember those odd combinations of food friends used to dare you to eat in grade school? Well, I was always the one to try them (provided there was some form of reward involved). Naturally, I couldn’t resist mixing these two flavors together. The resulting color was reminiscent of dishwater, and while it tasted slightly better, it wasn’t something I’d recommend. However, for those of you of legal drinking age, either flavor would make an excellent mixer—just not together.

Conclusion:

I’ve always appreciated the textured feel of Monster Ultra cans, as it gives me that warm feeling inside, knowing that a surge of 150 milligrams of caffeine is on its way. The design on the Fiesta can is particularly captivating with its Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) theme. Although the taste and design are unrelated, both Ultra Rosá and Ultra Fiesta are fantastic additions to the Monster Ultra lineup.
